Delhi: Indian cricketer Yash Dayal has received a significant boost after being granted interim relief in his ongoing case. After spending the past seven months away from competitive cricket, Dayal spoke publicly for the first time, describing this period as extremely challenging for him and his family—mentally, physically, and professionally.
Dayal revealed that he had been confined to his home during this time, with his parents also facing continuous mental stress. “My parents didn’t have a single night of peace. Today is a huge day for me. Receiving interim relief is a major support for my career, my family, and myself,” he said.
He shared that he had missed key opportunities during this period, including the India-England tour, India-A tour, and domestic cricket matches, which affected him both financially and professionally. He also acknowledged the toll the situation had taken on his mental and physical health.
Highlighting the role of his family, Dayal said, “My father endured a lot for me. He was injured twice while rushing, including once in a bike accident. Yet, through all of this, I never ran away from the situation. Today, I stand strong.”
Despite the challenges, Dayal emphasized that he maintained his training and discipline. “I never stopped my gym routine, training, or cricket practice. My focus remained on my goals. I believed I had done nothing wrong and kept working toward my objectives,” he said.
Regarding the legal process, Dayal expressed patience and confidence: “I knew it would take time, but ultimately my side would be heard. I trust myself and have full faith in the laws of this country.”
He concluded by expressing his respect for India’s justice system: “I am proud to be an Indian, and I have complete faith in our legal system.”
On the cricketing front, Yash Dayal has already made a name for himself in domestic cricket and the IPL. He was part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad in the last IPL season and has proven his ability to shoulder responsibility in crucial moments.
